We Listen. We Care. We Respond.

27 Mar

We all make mistakes. It is only human.

Last week, we discovered a very disheartening @reply on our Twitter stream:

Some companies would ignore this customer’s complaint. After all, @Dr_Bill_Braskey only exists online, right? You won’t actual have to see this person face-to-face.

Well, you have a complete misunderstanding of social media, my friend. On the contrary, we seek out  people – even our harshest critics – in order to make that face-to-face connection. Who knows? Your biggest critic may soon become your biggest fan…

Socks-In Drive A Huge Success

24 Mar

The Rockin’ Stockings family would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the individuals who participated in our Socks-In Donation Drive. 447 PAIRS OF SOCKS were collected. As you may recall, we promised to match each donation made during our drive. I know this may surprise some of you, but we are breaking that promise…

Since your commitment and your generosity was so substantial, and since we in the socks industry hate odd numbers, we’re going to add a few more pairs to your donations and make that 447 a 500 count for a grand total of……

You should all be proud. We certainly are. Know that when we refer to the “Rockin’ Stockings family,” we are talking about you. Thank you for making this drive such an overwhelming success.

4 Celebrity Sock-ers

22 Mar

4. Payne Stewart

Now THOSE are some rockin' stockings!

Payne Stewart single-handedly revived the real-men-wear-knickers movement. Before Tiger, Stewart was the only professional golfer who made the sport look cool. Tragically, he was killed in a plane crash at age of 42.

3. Sock Puppet choose a sock puppet as its spokesperson. No shocker that the company was a colossal failure – one that was emblematic of the dot-com bubble that finally burst in 2000. Socks serve numerous functions, but even we sock-fanatics are quick to note that it’s probably not a good idea to put a sock puppet on your company’s Board of Directors.

2. Mick Foley, a.k.a. Mankind

Professional wrestler Mick Foley a.k.a. Mankind developed a sock puppet sidekick. Mr. Socko soon became a large part of his on-stage persona, even incorporating it into his finishing move, the mandible claw (below).

Greatest. Auction. Ever.

Hot off the BBC News Desk:

Museum auctions celebrity socks

That’s right. You now have the opportunity to don the socks of the stars. In order to raise funds for the Ruddington Framework Knitters Museum, located in Nottinghamshire, England, its board of trustees has announced a celebrity socks auction scheduled for this Friday and Saturday.  Audrey Winkler, one of museum’s trustees, spent a year writing letters to celebrities worldwide and asking them to donate a pair of their socks.  Her hard work paid off – fifty-two socks (that’s twenty-six pairs for those doing the math) will be up for grabs at the auction.  The socks of Bond girl Gemma Arterton and tennis star Andy Murray are among those featured at the auction.  Though you are likely to pay much, much more for these socks than you would for our Rockin’ Stockings, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. How great would it feel to say, “I knocked that Bond girl’s socks off”?
